ViNES Deploys at McMaster

True Process Announces Successful Deployment of High-Resolution Clinical Data Capture Platform at McMaster Children’s Hospital

ViNES on LaptopMilwaukee — May 7, 2018 — True Process, a leader in high-frequency biomedical data acquisition, today announced the successful go-live of its medical device integration and data capture platform, ViNES®, at McMaster Children’s Hospital of Hamilton, Ontario. ViNES will be collecting high-resolution data (waveform and numeric) from over 50 critical care bed spots. Data collected will be used in the Artemis Project, a research initiative employing real-time online “big data” analytics and data mining principles to improve neonatal care. The project was developed at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT).

“Capturing this type of high-speed data in the hospital may be able to diminish the damage caused to vulnerable premature babies by treating infections before they show clinical signs for healthcare professionals. This has the potential to decrease length of stay and enable precious beds in tertiary referral hospitals, such as the NICU at McMaster Children’s Hospital, to be available to all babies who need them in a facility close to their home,” said Dr. Edward Pugh, a Neonatal Intensive Care doctor at McMaster Children’s Hospital and the medical lead in the Artemis project.

ViNES is currently installed in major hospitals in the United States and Canada and supporting clinical initiatives to improve critical care monitoring, disease detection, and enable algorithm development. ViNES supports projects with real-time, high-fidelity data acquisition typically exceeding 3.7 GBs of data per patient per day and 1,400 data points per patient per second. ViNES focuses on real-time, high-frequency data acquisition that supports next-generation clinical analytics and machine learning systems.
